Blitz SUS Power Intake
Blitz SUS Power Intake
In addition to the Turbo article in the July issue of Turbo Magazine, was an article on the BSP intake. Although they tested for a 350Z they mentioned that the application was meant for the G35.
Dyno'd
Base =238.2 hp and 228.6 lb torque peak!
After intake was installed the gained an increase of 5.7 hp and 3.1 lb-ft of torque.
I currently own a an AEM CAI on my exisitng car with which basically has a cone filter (K&N type). One of the great things about this filter is that it is made from a very fine T-304 stainless steel which never wears out and never needs oiled!!!
Awesome!

Jedi,
I too considered the Blitz, the AEM CAI and the Injen CAI. Over all these I chose the Stillen cold air box becasue it uses the stock elements of the car giving it an edge over these other units. See my posts under STILL CAI.

Jedi,
This is NOT the Air Filter your looking for............ Sorry Just trying Jedi mind tricks on you. I had Blitz SUS on my last car. True it was Stainless Mesh and never wore out or never needed to be re-oiled. But it also didn't filter too good either. It flowed Good Real good too good in fact but it didn't really filter out all the particles. So unless you live where there is no dust in the air. I would reccomend getting a Regular K&N type filter, Cleaning it regularly and re-oiling. And Despite the million mile warranty Replacing it every 30,000 or so miles. Something to think about if you really want to Protect your G. NismoV35

Re: Blitz SUS Power Intake
Nismo, far be it from me to argue with replacing a filter. But don't you think it's just a bit too soon to replace a K&N-type filter at 30K miles? I mean, really, I had one for almost 180K, frequently re-oiled very carefully, never "blown" out with air. And when I looked inside the throttle body, zippo dirt. Now, maybe that's just my luck. What do you think?
Also, while I gotcha, do you have any idea when the "other" NISMO is gonna come to town (meaning, the good ole' U.S. of A.)? I've been waiting and waiting and I see nothing---no address, no products that I can find (help me out if you know where to find some perf prods from N), no website, nothing.
Thanks

Re: Blitz SUS Power Intake
Jedi,
The Blitz lets more air to pass faster through the filter medium (Stainless mesh) Making more power than the K&N but also this is what lets more dust and particulates to pass through. The stainless mesh is more coarse than the cotton guaze. Also we know how "Sticky" something oiled is. This causes the K&N to trap more dust and other particles that are suspended in the air. This makes for more Cleaning of the filter and reoiling. While the Blitz is almost maintinance free. Granted on the Race track many people run their motors without any filter at all to get the most power possible along with a direct ram air effect. This will prove fatal to a daily driver where you cannot control weather and road conditionss around you. Wind kicking up dust for example. Sorry for the long technical post. Hope this helps your choice. NV35

Re: Blitz SUS Power Intake
Bond,
True it may be excessive to change a K&N every 30K but I figure it's cheap Insurance. What does a filter run Maybe 30-60 bucks? I can live with that, I figure if you change an oil filter every 3K miles, That filters the inside of the engine extracting dirt and other contaminents, Why not be safe and try to get all the dust from entering your engine through the intake manifold at all? Wow you went 180K? Thats something. Well Good luck with your air filter. I spoke to Nissan at the International Auto Salon Last month aaand they said NISMO will be available to the Public In the month of July. So just wait a little while longer and your dfreams will be reality. NV35
