Thumbs up Stillen Exhaust Installed!

So, I put in the Stillen exhaust Friday night. Pretty easy installation, although thank God my buddy had an impact wrench to get off the bolts on the Y pipe. It has a nice sound to it and adds a little spunk to the G35. Too bad the weather has been kinda crappy in Chicago, so I can't reaaly open it up too much.

how do you guys feel about the volume of this system? i am currently running TopSpeed headers, Crawford Cats, and Fujitsubo Y-pipe and it's pretty aggressive sounding, but i want it to be even meaner, and make some decent gains as well.

so, i am considering a few of the TD exhaust systems... Stillen, Invidia G200, and HKS Hi-Power Ti. I'm not sure how i feel about the HKS angled canister look, and the Invidia is sexy looking but i've heard it's very tame sounding. so, i would like your opinions on the Stillen

The Stillen definitely has a bit more of a growl to it. As-a-matter-of-fact, last weekend I had some buddy's take my car for a spin (I was in a good mood that day, lol), and all of them loved the sound of the exhaust.

If you want something aggressive there are systems louder than Stillen. Injen, Greddy EVOII, HKS Hi-Power are all good choices, but be aware that they are going to drone on the highway.

No droning on HKS high-power TI exhaust. Gets aggressive when you take-off and amazingly quite at idle.

i am staying away from Injen and HKS b/c i decided i am not a big fan of the angled canister look. i figured Stillen was good b/c it was aggressive but showed good gains as well and doesn't look much different than stock.

I'm getting so many mixed reviews about the sound of the Stillens. I want some gain but not too much louder than stock. And what exactly is "drone" on the highway? Is that the annoying humming and vibrations coming from the "bass" of the exhaust?

foobs

The Fuji's are also 4.5", and from what I've seen, there really isnt anything "off the shelf" that comes any bigger due to the fact that it pretty much wouldnt fit into the allocated space in the rear valance of the G...

Yes, it is. Not just on the highway, on the local street too at about 2000 to 3000 rpm.It is annoying to me.

fuji's tips are 117mm, and HKS's are 120mm

I thought Stillen was one of the loudest exhausts out there? I guess all that changed when they came out with the New Stillen Exhaust. Does the stillen have any droning on the highway? It's also a lot louder than the fuji exhaust, right?
