?? Have I gone to far ?? (E-Cutouts: Pix & Vids)

So I told you I was gonna do this. I sacrificed my Stillen X pipe to make this happen. But no pain, no gain, right? For those of you that do not know what race readies or cut-outs are... they basically are an in-line "Y" pipe for each exhaust pipe (dual ex). In the old days with just the race readies, you would climb under your car and unbolt caps that were place across the front of the pipe. This allowed you basically straight header exhaust.

Using E-Cutouts, you now just flick a switch, and voila!!! TRUE STRAIGHT PIPES. Of course, mine are installed after the Crawford Cats... we have to protect the environment just a little... and fire coming out of my pipes is a little scarey!

I would like to thank Dave at DMHperformance.com !
His E-cutouts were the best quality i could find out there... and it doesn't hurt to get sponsored to try something new. My muffler guy (Serge at Speedway Muffler in Rowland Heights) gave these a thumbs up.

Parts:
1 set of 2.5" Dual E-Cutouts from DMHperformance.com

1 set of Race Readies from Summit Racing (or you can get them from Dave at DMH)

Installed at Speedway Muffler, Rowland Heights (No Muff to Tuff)
18963 Labin Ct., Unit C2 (60 Fwy at Nogales, behind the Denny's)

and now... on to the good stuff....

Now here are two vids!! PLEASE Right click and Save target as... do not OPEN from the server. Please be considerate!!!

Video 1: Open and closing at idle

Video 2: Open and revving...OMFG - UFB!!!

I'm gonna have some fun at LACR on friday night!

Is it too loud for the street!!!

When closed, you cannot tell they are there.

When open, can you say JGTC!

I haven't run them open yet... the Sheriffs have no sense of humor. Friday will tell me, and I plan to run some dynos (no later than Stillen day, if not before)

Wow that just sounds mean as hell. Definitely try to get video of you at the drag strip and post up. At least time slips and some good stories.

SoCalTed is in.... SoCal!

The Flow tech race readies run $55 + s/h

The Dual Exhaust e-cutouts run $360 (w/ flow tech race readies) and $320 without the race readies. Single pipe exhaust kits are also avail.

Since DMH sponsored me, I had to source my own race readies...that's why i bought them from Summit. If you order your cutouts w/ the flow techs, Dave at DMH will cover the shipping and you'll save ~$25 vs. buying them separate from Summit.

Sources to all parts are linked in my original post above.

I'll probably run a group buy on these for those interested... but I myself want to get a dyno on them and see what they do. No use putting my stamp of approval on something if it does not provide the gains as expected. i can tell you that his quality is A#1! When these things seal closed, you can't even tell that they are there.

Cheers, ted

OHH MAN, this is nice, there is another company that works just like this except that they use a wastegate actuator. But that one only works with turbo cars.

But thank god this ended up being made. Probably the best thing to have when at the track

Sweet mod. Unfortunately I can't watch the videos here at work. For some reason the pics of the guy cutting through your exhaust made me cringe.

I can't watch the videos here at work either, I bet that thing screams. I'm assuming it seals off perfectly when not in open mode.

I just got home and played the videos. I have two things to say.
1. Sound is wicked, I love the mod.
2. What's up with those homo shoes you were wearing?

Whoa, nice. I wonder which size race readies I'd need for my Fuji exhaust.

hey man... don't knock my "Garage Slippers". Doesn't everyone have a pair?!?!?!

Chinese wife = no shoes allowed in house, so you get a little sick of taking your sneakers off to get another beer. And yes, I will be working on putting a fridge in the garage! (beer reference slipped in to add manliness to Garage Slippers)

Moog - Yes, when in the closed position, you cannot tell they are there.

Brittain - thank you for your understanding and obvious good taste.

Roneski - Pix #6 shows them "expanding" my exhaust pipe to accept the race readies. Not sure which Fuji exhaust you have, but doing a quick search I see that the Legalis-R uses 76.3mm piping, which is roughly a 3" pipe. Dave (dmhperformance.com) also makes 3" e-cutouts. You'd want to double check everything first before ordering, though!

Cheers, ted
