Rambo, should be fairly simple. All you would have to do is cut off the bottom piece and seal the opening. I wanted to keep my stock parts in one piece. If I ever had to sell my G, then I would put the stock parts back on to increase resell value. The 350Z part is $100.18 plus tax. Not a big loss.

Re: Stillen Intake and 350Z duct pics
I put the 350Z duct pipe on my Coupe tonite, I got it on the web for $75. (I have the original box with a K&N in it) Took all of 15 minutes to remove the old pieces and install the new piece. Haven't taken it out on the road yet, but I expect great things.

Re: Stillen Intake and 350Z duct pics
Does anyone know if I can make my stock intake sound like an aftermarket one like stillen or injen. Im not to keen on spending $200+ on a bent pipe with a filter. I cut a hole about 3 inches in diameter on the top of the intake on my friends Jetta and the sound is so throaty out of that four banger I would imagine it on our 6. Now there is a trick to doing this and not all intakes work or they dont work properly. I was wondering if something like that could be done on the G for all the people who just want the sound not the measly 2whp you might gain or lose.

350Z Duct Assembly - Part # 16576-CD000
I got mine from Jayson at parts@nissanwholesaleparts.com
It cost $81.15 plus shipping.
By the way, Jayson's a cool guy.

The Z probably doesn't have a resonator, because the Z Duct lets you hear the car better giving one a better feeling of how the car reacts. It does not sound like much from the outside of the car, but the sound on the inside of the G is a whole different story.

Re: Stillen Intake and 350Z duct pics
I've had the Z-duct on for about 10 weeks. I can't tell by the seat of my pants if there is any improvement in performance. Noise and gas mileage do not seem to be affected.
Actually, I put the duct on for two reasons:
1. I wanted to play a joke on a friend, (Hey, Chuck, look. My G35 came with a 350Z motor!)
2. I just couldn't stand the look of the stock duct. It reminded me of a coffin for rodents with a smashed soda pop bottle glued to it. The Z-duct has that smooth, curvey shape to it.
There may be some performance benefit, but I'll have to see it on a dyno. BTW, The stock air box has a screen at the inlet to the MAF to protect it if the air filter breaks. This screen can be a significant restriction at high RPMs. Stillen, and maybe others, remove this screen to attach their filters. This can be another dyno project for someone: how much does this screen affect HP?

Where do you get your Z-duct from? I tried nissanwholesaleparts.com, they said it is back order and will take a month to fill in the order. I called a few dealers locally here in southern california. None of them have one in stock.
