Try buying one from my350z.com. I guarantee some of those guys have installed CAI's and have your inlet pipe sitting in thier garage. I am having mine installed tomorrow with the Stillen Hi Flow., Can't Wait!

Re: Stillen Intake and 350Z duct pics

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but here's something to consider:

Resonators actually smooth out air flow. Someone needs to dyno it with and without the intake resonators to see if it even does anything besides make the car loud.

Re: Stillen Intake and 350Z duct pics

A look into the pipe will show it's not a help. There are two holes in it, one in the top that leads to the resonator box, and one on the bottom that gets hot air from the exhaust manifold. So we have a smooth pipe with two holes in it. Holes that will deflect air, one to a resonator box and one to the manifold area. Air must pass in and out of these two holes disturbing the air flow. Air coming from the manifold is always hot, whether in Alaska in the winter or Africa in the summer. The other one (resonator) is just to intrude on the intake air to muffle the sound. Neither will help with the output of power.

I have a STILLEN HI-FLOW AIRBOX too. If I add the 350Z duct will this have more fuel burn and better milage? Thanks

In theory it should, however from what I understand and someone PLEASE correct me I would love to be wrong, our ECU will detect more 02 and in an effort to bring the ratio back to stock, increase fuel. Does this sound right? To me that = less fuel efficiency.

Re: Stillen Intake and 350Z duct pics

I purchased the duct from Concord Nissan in California. It was a special order and arrived within one week. However, I purchased it in April. I get the impression from this forum that many G35 owners now are buying these ducts. A one month back-order is possible. The Nissan parts people in SoCal must be wondering what is going on.

OK, I just added my z pipe, What a difference. I had the Stillen Hi flow for a week and was not that impressed, apparently it was the pipe that was holding it back because wholly crap, what a difference. I took it on the highway and got on it WOT, look out. It sounded unbeleivable and fealt great. I highly recommend it. I was able to break loose from the stop with traction controll ON. I have a 5at and that was a first for me. I recommend everyone get this MOD and someone tell Infiniti to stop with the BS and put that pipe on the 04's.

Way to go dude! I have the 350Z duct on back order. The
"better half" has approved the purchase of the Stillen
CAI. Those 2 mods will be on my 5AT within a month I hope!

Stillen Hi-Flow alone is bad

I too have an AT Sedan with a 5 wire Hyperground kit. Since I installed Stillen Hi-Flow, my idle doesn't stay longer (felt like grounding kit wasn't there) and poor gas milage. I hope I don't need aftermarket exaust after getting a 350Z duct. Thanks

What do you mean by your "idle doesn't stay longer"?
Did you reset the ECU?

Yeah. I mean tranny stays in that gear a little longer as though anticipating you to floor it again.

Re: Stillen Hi-Flow alone is bad

I've noticed this exact same behavior, when decelerating, or when letting off the gas while accelerating, the car tends to stay at higher RPMs longer than it did before the grounding kit. I know there's probably a technical explanation for this behavior, but it really seems as though the G is staying at higher RPMs in anticipation of more acceleration. It's an interesing, and very nice, effect of the grounding kit.
