Maybe I should see if someone would trade their crawford Cats + Y-pipe for my Borla.

Right now I am very tempted to drive to a shop and get my stock exhaust installed. However, since I figure I will have to pay the labor, might as well try out the CAT & Y-Pipe
Oh yeah, test pipes are a whole different story as far as the rasp is concerned. The Crawford sounds nothing like that I'm going to take some better sound clips in the next day or two and I'll PM you a link.

PS You can talk to people like neffster who got a y-pipe while running stock exhaust and they'd tell you there's pretty much no sound or performance difference. That's why I haven't gotten a y yet. On the other hard there are a couple of people running Borla and RT cats and the combo sounds pretty mean, I like it. Decisions, decisions

Congrats on the new exhaust. Give it a couple weeks and see if it grows on you. Here is the clip of my exhaust that Finiti35 was talking bout. The video goes like this. The first half is stock exhaust coupled with headers and cats, the second half is Fuji exhaust coupled with stock y-pipe, headers, and cats. http://s25.yousendit.com/e.aspx?id=0...N3SNOM9478AAYU

I like the stock exhaust best, but I wish it was a little louder. I love going under overpasses or tunnels and hearing the exhaust sound echo!!

i just got my fuji exhaust installed yesterday! with the fuji Y pipe. to me, like everyone else says at idle it is a lot more quiet than stock and there is no droning cruising at low rpm unless you give it a little more gas then the deep tone comes to life. i don't know what it sounds like with a stock Y pipe but getting the whole thing was worth it. i recommend this exhaust to those people who want a little more meaner tone to their exhaust and a smooth torque band. oh yea! i noticed shifting from 1st to 2nd my notching has disappeared. actually my tranny seems smoother.

I've got the Borla (for now), and I also notice the notchy 1-2 shifting and lower rpm manuver got smoother after the exhaust install. There are two possible explainations though:

1) Free flowing exhaust helps the engine fart better, thus smooth out power output.

2) We lost torque down low. I feel lower end power (below 2500-3000rpm) was lost after the Borla. After 3000rpm the engine pulls harder.

Man I hate to hear that. I've had mine for about 2 months and I couldn't be happier it has gotten even better after a few K miles. It is quite for an aftermarket set-up. I agree the stock exhaust does sound killer but I wouldn't even think about going back stock. I have the Y-pipe so it may make a little more noise with it but it's for sure deeper than stock, more of an exotic sound than the raspy ricer sound that most have. I will also add that the sound clips are misleading. The best way to decide is to hear one in person. Good luck and it sounds like somebody's gonna get a great deal on a Fuji.

Stock is pretty nice. I do love driving in parking garages because you can really appreciate that sound. Sweet!
