350Z exhaust on my G35C... did a search already...

OK, I did a search and it probably made me more confused than before.

I know the 350Z exhaust is shorter, and I know you can buy an extension pipe for it. But what size do I get? I see many conflicting posts about the proper length for the extension. Some say 6" extension pipe, but the tips will be 2" short... but you can also get an 8" extension pipe, will that work better?

Performance Nissan has the 6" extension pipe:
http://performancenissanparts.com/ca...roducts_id=340

And I found an 8" extension pipe on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/INFIN...spagenameZWDVW

They're both relatively inexpensive, so that doesn't concern me, I just want to make sure I have the right part I need. Any input? Is this all I'm going to need to make an exhaust off a 350Z work for my G?

Also, if it makes any diffrence, its going to be a GReddy EVO2 exhaust. All input is welcome, thanks in advance!

I think the number is closer to 7", but not sure. as far as the tips, trying to compensate in the midpipe wont work. The muffler has hangers, so the muffler position is fixed. You will need pipe extensions after the muffler, or your tips will tuck in under the bumper.

I haven't found any 7" extensions, only 6" or 8", so which is it?

Is the tip issue being short the same with all exhausts?

As I said, I'm not sure, but if it's too long, you can always cut it. If it were me, I'd get the 8". The tip issue is common to all exhausts, the underside of the Coupe bumper is wider than the "Z". You may not mind the tucked-in look, or you may be able to find a muffler shop that can extend the tips.

May I ask why you want to go through this trouble? Are you getting an exhaust for free?

I'm getting it for a really good price. I don't think its that much trouble to have a couple pipes made. I'm thinking of just getting rid of the Y-pipe all together and make it a true dual anyway.

papagz, do you have any pics of your setup?

i got the 350z stillen, and it turned out to be around 8" in the mid, then you have to add around 2" to the tip to make it look right. again. take it to the muffler shop and they're do all, no guess work...... but expect to pay around $120-$200 depending where..... but this is sol cal price...... hope you find a better deal then i did. good luck
