Stillen CAI Install Question

Hi,

My Stillen CAI is due to arrive tomorrow. Just wanted to here from those that have installed one. Does it have a good set of instructions and if there are any special tools I will need?

Thanks,

John

Re: Stillen CAI Install Question

John,

The bolt at the bottom of the CAI unit under the air filter is a little difficult if you have large forearm. However the box (well not really a full box) is flexible that you can squeeze in there. Personally the box look flimsy but once installed is pretty secured. It will be nice if you have 3/8" drive rachet with I believe 10mm socket. A wrench will work also but rachet is faster. Don't forget to leave the battery unplugged (negative end) for 12 hours so your ECU will learn about your new CAI and fully take advantage of it.

You will love it!

Re: Stillen CAI Install Question

It comes with instructions. The bolt on the bottom I left out. I just couldn't reach down there. Also you will need a drill bit. My didn't come pre-drilled. I don't know if it does or not.

Re: Stillen CAI Install Question

Thanks for the input. What did you have to drill? Do you remember what size drill bit?

Re: Stillen CAI Install Question

Did anyone remove the protective screen in front of the MAF/sensor before installing Stillen Hi-Flow CAI? Thanks

I left mine there. Looks like it protects the motor and doesn't look too restrictive.

Re: Stillen CAI Install Question

Mike,

Did you install the 350Z duct first without your
StillenCAI? If so, what were your impressions
of adding the Stillen CAI afterwards? Do you
think I will really gain more HP with the addition
of the Stillen CAI? I'm fence sitting right now as
to what to do next.

Re: Stillen CAI Install Question

I installed the Stillen box first and then the Z-Pipe. Did not notice much if any power gains. I did gain a better feeling of the engine though. Hope that helps.
