Exactly what i was thinking....

If it is designed for the 350Z...it will be about 6-8" short in the mid pipe.

BTW the tips will not sit flush with the bumper...they will sit back about 3 inches

The JDM weldina nismo exhaust is a perfect fit-but almost twice the amount.

Basically the hangers that support the exhaust will not line up if your dad tried to bold the exhaust up directly. You need a 6" extension piece to get the hangers to align properly.

Then you'll need to have a professional welder add in a 2" length to both sides of the tail pipes so that they sit flush with your rear diffuser.

Performance Nissan sells this 6" extension...

i was dead-set on getting the Nismo system myself, and as everyone mentioned there are 2 systems. the 350z version (which many places just list as a "g35 coupe" version and include the extension) and the JDM G35 (CPV35) version (which retails for like $2200 and has a helluva wait time since it's JDM).

i would imagine that he ended up with the 350z variant WITHOUT the extension pipe. in that case like neffster mentioned, if you mounted the exhaust to the hangers you would end up short.

in my own personal case i didn't mind the extension pipe, but having to cut and re-weld the tips was the dealbreaker. i ended up getting the Fujitsubo (same system since Fuji actually builds the Nismo system) and it fit like a glove.

where did he order it from?

It's an 8" extension made by Pro-1.

You won't need the extension.
