mikeee2,
The I have the z-tube plus stillen airbox, with this combo it is fairly loud above 3500rpms. But it is unbelieveable, i'm not into the really loud exhausts...but the sound above 3500rpms is awesome. It took about an hour to install both, could have done it quicker but I took my time, no ac rubbing issues. My girlfriend noticed the sound while I was talking to her on my cell phone. She said your car sounds really loud, I was getting on the highway pretty fast. You wouldn't notice that you had this mod if you don't get on it.
I have a 2005
I would recommend this to anyone.
In the cold weather it dosen't sound as loud, which seems weird.

Well said. It's loudest when WOT and moderately loud depending on the load. Normal driving is fairly quiet until you open her up. The sound is intoxicating!

Smedly,

Do you stick m/t or automatic? The thing with automatic is, unless you use manumatic, the noise only sounds nice if your foot is on the pedal, as soon as you let go and it upshifts, then it drops back down to the 1,000+ rpms. So when you drive it normal (around 2,000 - 2,500) rpm, it sounds just like any other 05's?

I know it's kinda off but how would you rate the sound versus a g35 coupe or an aftermarket exhaust?

It's quite tempting hearing your comment. I am just afraid it would be too loud (ricey). It's under $200 bucks for it...I guess it won't kill if I have to buy it and then remove it afterward .

It's not ricey at all! I hate the sound of civics with aftermarket exhausts. I was concerned with what the G would sound like with this mod but believe me you will be thrilled with the stillen.
I have a auto tranny at highway speed of 80 with tach just over 3000rpms it sounds like stock while cruising, but when you get on it.. it sounds throaty almost like having a V-8, but in no way does it sound ricey. If it did I would have taken it off right away. Under normal driving conditions you can not tell you changed anything.
Personally if you have $200 bucks to spend get this with the z-tube!

That sounds like what I want. A throaty sound when I hit on it and a normal sound when I drive it mellow when I have passengers aboard. Let's see if I give the go ahead and make the purchase.

Thanks Smedly...

Haha...I am done with the ricey days. I get a kick out of it when I hear those coffee can fart exhaust civics driving by (dx models) with skinny 14 inches and stocker than stock but with just the rumbling fart exhaust .

I have the stillen with the 350z tube and Nismo Exhaust, to me it just sounds slightly louder then stock. Anyone know of a good quality sound recorder I could buy so you guys can hear it?

Ill post pics of the stillen big air intake when I get home tonight...

I not sure one intake could be all that better than another given the small gains even the best one would yield.

Anyway. Here is a question. What makes the Stillen short ram type better than let's say stock? It mounts in the same spot. Same basic design. the only real difference I see, is that the Stillen/JWT uses a cone/pop charger for the filter. Now let's say you use a Z tube and a K&N Panel.

Is the CONE that much better than the Panel style? I mean, the surface area of a cone vs panel has to be very close. Assuming that is the determining performance difference.
