Honestly why? Hell get them cheap ceramic coat them and save yourself some money, they will look great once they are ceramic coated. I would only not buy them if they were long tubes and someone smashed a collector. Not sure why you said desperate? But shiny new parts make you faster right

Why would'nt you buy a used part as long as its in good shape? A new part becomes used the second you install it on your car anyway....

I've seen enough people buy used engine/tranny/exhaust parts when I had my mustang to see what can, and usually does, go wrong. I'd possibly buy a used exhaust, but never headers, esp. with all the problems that can happen w/ them and you have no clue what, if any, problems, you're inheriting.

I'll pay the extra $100 and have piece of mind knowing my gearing isn't going to disintegrate after 3months.......are you people really that cheap.......we're not talkign about saving thousands, just a few hundred at most buying used.

edit: btw $100 makes or breaks your budget, then that's pretty sad and you shouldn't be modding in the first place. period.

it depends on the type of headers - "bigger name" brands like Nismo and Crwaford are 1000+, copy-cat brands like Strupt, DC, topspeed, etc... are cheaper (but their quality is just as good......however, other copy-cat brands like Megan are piles of ****).

Driveline parts are a little different then headers man. It is not that people are cheap they are just finding deals nothing wrong with that, if you are mechanically inclined and know what you are looking for you will know what is a good used part and what is crap. Hell you can buy used ring and pinions that will work just fine if you inspect it and make sure nothing is fugged. But if you pay people to install your parts and don't know then by all means buy everything new if it gives you peace of mind.

I know drivetrain will be different, it was just an example

but still, I've seen enough of my friends who're relatively mechanically inclined (me, i'm car retarded ) curse and swear up and down and kicking themselves in the *** because they got used parts, all the way from something simple like used pulleys to used forced induction methods.
