Which intake to choose from, CAI or Z tube?

I would like to deepen and make the the factory exhaust noise louder. Would I select a CAI or the Z tube with K&N filter combo to get this result?

Forgot to add in JWT pop charger with Z tube combo

What about the JWT pop charger with Z tube combo? I forgot to add this into my initial question.
Also, the intake that has the deepest and loudest note but still keeps the factory exhaust sound, which website sells it for the most affordable price?

At the moment, I am contemplating on the Stillen air box set-up.

if you only want sound you cant go wrong with either one. i suggest you go to a local meet and ask someone with either a z-tube/popcharger or injen CAI to give you a ride.

IMO the ideal intake system would be a Pop-Charger filter in a Stillen AirBox. The Z-Tube was tested with back to back dynos and it did NOTHING at least not for a car equiped with motordyne's mrev (tested by me, shawn from churches, tony from motordyne, and im not sure but i think GeePasta was there and a few others).

But then again if your expecting an aftermarket intake to make noticeable difference in performance when our stock air box is so well engineered then you'll be without a doubt VERY disappointed. but if you're only looking for something to enhance the engine tone then you cant go wrong with Injen or Z-Tube/PopCharger. I myself had a Z-Tube and PopCharger with a modified heat shield. The stock probably heat soaked alot less but the tone was worth the loss. If my G wasnt totaled i'd be running the PC with a Stillen CAI box (AKA a stock air box with a cone filter in it)

Raize2k, I've spoken with you in AIM but just want to share my review of the weapon r intake with other forum members.

the Weapon R intake (IMO) will cause you to loose power. reasons for this is because the intake is a shortram style withOUT a heatshield or box. It doesnt matter how big or how less-restrictive the filter is when you're sucking hot air created by your radiator, head light, valve cover, and accessories. Notice how the guy that did the review on the weapon r intake left his JWT heat shield on after swaping out his Z-Tube & Popcharger. Now we all know that the PopCharger is a power loss (Especially at low speeds and RPM) it was proven many times by many members on many dynos (do a search on the forums). There is another intake designed by ********** (almost identical to the weapon R intake). We dynoed his car on Churches Dynapack and it had a 10wHP loss (peak) compaired to our (mines and shawn of churches) baseline. Most of it was due to the bad design of the clamps (we found that out after we took apart his intake and reinstalled it again) he still showed a 3-4HP Loss. Keep in mind that when your car is on a dyno you have a BIG fan (in our case we had two) and the hood is poped open. so with all that fresh cool air blowing towards the car it still loss 3hp. now what if your car is at low speed or at a stop with the hood closed on a warm day

edit: To the original poster: think of the K&N as nothing more then a OEM filter. Only reason why everyone gets it is because you can clean and reuse it - saving you $ down the line.

Makes a wonderful noise with a spacer or upperplenum installed too. only downside to it is that you'll need to remove the front bumper or at least pull it out a bit to clean (and does get quite dirty). and watchout for big puddles

to give you an better idea the blue (i think it was blue anyways) Z that dynoed in the sportsz intake plenum article had a HP loss due to the fact that he did NOT have that foam piece on the air box that sealed the box with the hood on. he took it off cause he had a CF hood then sold it and put his OEM hood back on. something as small as that will let hot air into your intake system could cause a power loss..

we finally did his base line by fishing it out of another Z or we made our own, i wasnt sure lol
