Installed the stillen Hi-Flow box and Z tube yeste

I notices a whissling sound about 2-3k rpm when i hit it hard, does anybody know if that i supposed be that way? I also added a pic of the setup under my profile. I have decided to run without the engine cover for now, I will be doing it that way anyway once i get my crawford plenum. I noticed the engine temp is one line lower from normal(which is perfectly in the middle). Is this good, bad, ok ? But as far as the Stillen+Z tube the sound is great, I like the whissling sound, kinda sounds like there is something hmmm cool under there. Overall I definatelly feel the extra power, how much, have no clue, but it does seem to pull harder. The engine also sounds somewhet louder, maybe its because i dont have the engine cover on. I dont really care for the looks under the hood, its the performance that matters. With the Borla exhaust installed next weekend my car will sound like a beast it is.

I also put on the Standard ceramic pads on, hope the brake dust will be much less. The stopping power seems to be the same. The stock pads were almost done, I had 10k miles on them.

I have the Stillen Box on my car but no Z tube yet its on backorder. Anyway the sound is great mine sounds like its turbocharged because of the hissing sound. Try starting the car in the morning and while its cold go out for a drive and hit it in 1st gear and hear the sound difference. It might be the same for you because you have the Z- tube but for me its this mean growl that you can hear like a mile away. Dont do it too much cause you will end up damaging the engine. Thats the worst thing you can do to an engine is stress it when its cold.

Ahh ok so its the stillen box that produces the sound, yea it does sound like it is turbo charged, its really cool, I love it. You can only hear it when you hit the gas hard. Since I installed those 2 mods I have been driving with no radio, just enjoying the sound

The whistle is normal, and the z tube is whats making your engine louder. Enjoy!

Why won't anyone sell me their Z intake tube? I've posted over at my350z.com but haven't had any responses. I also want to add the Stillen air box and z intake tube but I guess I can wait.

Go to my350z.com and pm bluefish, ask him to get you in touch with Andrew at the pro shop. Andrew has 4 or 5 z pipes sitting in his shop at Westbury Nissan.

I must be deaf because I have the same setup - Stillen airbox, K&N filter, and Z intake. I can't hear any whissling.

I do hear the intake and it sounds great.

You only hear it at high acceleration, around 3-5k rpm, sounds like a lot of air being sucked through a tight opening.

I've got the 350 tube and a K&N Air filter in the stock intake box. It *does* sound likee a turbo - when I've got the hood up, the hissing is very noticeable. Diggit!!

Oh, that's the sound (hiss) everyone's been talking about. I also have the 350Z tube and a K&N. To me, it sounds like a carburated car with the air cleaner off. It's just the normal sounds of a normally aspirated engine sucking for air. BTW, sounds good to me also.

How was the install of both? Is it easy to do with no real mechanical experience?

I have almost no mechanical experience, thats why I always have my buddy gearhead with me. You could definatelly get it done, just take your time, the directions that came with stillen were pretty good and the z tube is a nobrainer.
