Picked up car.Exhaust Leak and scraped/up torn Y-pipe
I just picked up my car from a body shop today. The fender has been bent up for a while and I got it fixed finally (they did a great job, perfect color match). There was a little bit of polish or something still on the car so the guy starts her up to go take it and wipe it off. My face goes like this
and I think to my self "was that my car?" because I was unsure at that point. The exhaust sounded F'ed up! I was like WTF did they steal something or change my exhaust?? So he comes back and something is definately screwed up, it sounded worse than a civic ricer exhaust. So the guy takes it to the lift and the bottom is all scraped up (esp. the y-pipe) and the braided area on the right of the y has a whole in it. The guy says it looks like something that happened over time, but I wasnt happy because it was fine before. So I felt around to see if the whole was the problem and it turned out there was an exhaust leak at the joint after the y-pipe on the left side. So I took the car thinking I could fix it. Is this something that is easily fixed by tighening up the joint?
Sorry for the long post, but please give me your opinions of how I can fix it or what I should do / should have done. Thankyou.

Is the leak between the Y pipe and the mid pipe? Regardless, you might be able to simply tightened it up a bit. You might need to replace the gasket, as well . . . Good luck.
I'm confused. There's a hole in the ypipe, *and* a leak where the driver's side section meets your midpipe? If the leak isn't coming from a weld, and just the gasket, simply re-hanging with new gaskets or even exhaust puddy might fix it. But if you've got a hole, "tightening" won't fix that
Somebody at the garage was messing around with your car. Did you check the ODO before you dropped it off? It sounds like somebody was drifting your car in a parking lot and scraped the bottom of your car over speed bump.

Ok I check it again and took it to the Infiniti dealer. The f'n y-pipe is cracked. They definately did it. I may have done a couple of cratches in the past but sure the hell didnt crack the y-pipe. So anyone local to me I NEED A Y-PIPE!! There is a possibility that one of the cats are bent too. Ill still post picks if I get the program for my RAZR to work and get the pics off of it.
Everyone please tell me if I should go back to the body shop and complain...And what should I say since there isnt any proof. Please help guys...thanks!

Man, that is a tough one. I thought you a loose bolt or something. Well, you can speak with the person in charge and see if they step up to the plate. Unfortunately, they will more that likely denied it. I trust that I am wrong. Good luck!
