Thinking about doing it...
Basically you have to start buy rough sanding then..
progessively finer grit.
Since it's aluminum wet sanding works best.
Then you start with polishing compounds, again getting progressively finer.

Eastwood Co would probably be th ebest website for you find the materials etc that you need! Gonna take alot of work since it is cast and very pourous. The smaller areas are difficult. I would make sure you have some good tools! An adjustable speed rotary would be ideal for sanding the larger portions, a dremel will be needed for sure in addition to various bobs, and polishing coumpounds including tripoli and jewelers rouge. Very time consuming project.
I have a polished plenum (includes unpolished lower plenum) for sale. I hit it with some Mothers to bring the shine back. It could use a little more TLC, but it shines pretty good now.
