Re: 350Z NISMO Headers

Stillen has a supercharger...I don't care for their products, but it's an option...I hear the ATI supercharger is a quality product...I just don't think Stillen cares about their customers, so I won't give them a dime...

Re: 350Z NISMO Headers

damn if I had that kind of money to buy JUST headers, id probably be driving another car (viper, nsx, porsche), why spend 1/10 of the price of a car on some headers, i wouldnt even spend the 500 on borla headers, just because theyre "Top Secret", theres a secret alright, and they are keeping it from you, j/k but really, no appearance factor, no performance factor, might as well pay 5000 for a custom underbody paintjob. one good thing tho, when you get tired of them or want to get something different, you could probably get a couple hundred bucks for them!

SnM,

I know what you mean about Stillen. I have slowed my business with them because their customer service skills are lacking as well as their knowledge of products (the guys answering the phones that is). My biggest prob with marketing a supercharger is that I have to deal with warranty issues. Nissan/Infiniti has told my people that they are not backing any superchargers until and only if there is an OEM supercharger released for the G or Z. They said that the rest of the engine couldn't take the heat of an aftermarket and even if it did the warranty would be null and void the moment you installed it. That stopped a lot of my customers from even looking at superchargers.

Re: 350Z NISMO Headers

I didn't say there weren't any performance gains, I said I hadn't dynoed the car to get real numbers behind the gains...They're supposed to be worth an output of 15 to 18 HP, and that's good enough for me to buy them...All together the parts going into the G cost over twice what the car is worth- once again, this is a promotional vehicle...No, I wouldn't expect the average Joe out there to spend $4K on headers, but I like them...

Anyone that is willing to pay $4000 dollars for a set of headers obviously has a screw loose. The "Top Secret" is that they provide you with lube when bending you over for that kind of money.

Re: 350Z NISMO Headers

Ah, someone else that has no idea what they're talking about wants to chime in...I happen to know Top Secret's track record...I've seen the cars they've built, and I know for a fact that when you use their components you have top of the line quality under your hood...They've been involved in several Skyline GT-R projects pushing 1000HP and if you check the hottest rides out in Japan odds are you're going to find Top Secret under the hoods...So go ahead and bag on me because I know which components are the best and I can afford them...I don't know how many times I have to say this is a company vehicle and that means only the best will do...

4K$ for 15-18hp is pretty good, smart spending especially for a promo car, on a serious note, are you putting the top secret coilovers and exhaust on it? what else are you gonna use- since the mods are twice as much as the car costs. do you have some pics of the headers yet?

Re: 350Z NISMO Headers

I have to agree Top Secret makes some of the best aftermarket products.
We also build demo cars for shows such as SEMA. From our own business perceptive, we don't find it cost effective to spend over $3K on headers when the headers will be swapped out for a twin turbo set-up. I spoke with Kenji the head R&D guy at GReddy and GReddy will have its G35 with the twin turbo set-up at SEMA. If we had a company like Microsoft and cost was no issue, I still don't think we would spend over $3k for headers just to say we had the best quality product in the car, but each his own

Re: 350Z NISMO Headers

Guys,

save your cash for something better. Just get Doug Crawford's equal length headers that TRULY develop 16 hp. at 1200-1400 bucks. I would trust Doug's over all these others any day. Available in 2-3 weeks.

Re: 350Z NISMO Headers

The way an individual or an entity decides to spend his/her money on their car is very diverse. Just by following this thread shows just that. Top Secret is one of the top tuners in Japan and have been dominating the track for several years now. The quality of their products is top-notch and the price tag does reflect it. Yes, the headers are expensive, but they are titanium...............reducing about 80% of the weight of the original system. Two major ingredients in increasing performance - strength and lightness. Some people put in the best for their cars despite cost while others refrain from spending any money on their cars. Let's just respect others for their decision on the way they customize their cars..........afterall, most of us want to stand out.

Yuichi,

Were you ever able to confirm that NISMO headers will actually fit a G35 Sedan or Coupe?

Re: 350Z NISMO Headers

Sorry for the sticky thread, but were any G35'ers able to confirm Nismo headers for the 350z actually fit in the G35 Coupe? Thanks.
