ztube + stillen intake problem
This is a common problem for 6MT cars with intakes. The auto cars aren't effectly by it because they never go into neutral once you let off after WOT. It's a vacuum/MAF problem created by the intake when the engine goes from no vacuum (WOT) to full vacuum (neutral). There's no easy way to fix this other than don't place the car in neutral after doing a high speed run.

so it is the filter? and not the ztube? if thats the case im thinking of taking out the stillen cab.. and replacing it with my stock air box.. you guys will probably see it for sale in the marketplace soon.. i really dont want to but im so used to putting it into neutral after a hard run especially when im about to come to a stop.. it just doesnt seem normal for the car to die out like that

Okay, I don't have any of these issues. However, I do not put my car into Neutral either. I am very curious . . . Why are people putting their cars into Neutral other than at a stop?
Fiveseven, I have hte exact setup. Can you explain how to replicate the issue again? I want to see if I have it. So go hard in second and then as it's still rolling go into neutral?
I have definitely cruised in neutral before with no problems like you mentioend. Is this the same or do I have to go at WOT?

2nd doesnt do it anymore.. but 3rd gear and on.. for example... if im going say 5k rpm in 3rd and i put it into neutral to coast to a stop.. my needle would hit 0 and my car would stall.. anyway i went back to my stock air box and i left the z-tube in.. car is 100% back to normal.. stillen told me i just have a extra sensitive maf... so they cant let me return it.. so my intake is up for sale in the marketplace

do you know anyone locally that has the same setup? if so have them test your CAI. Not a very scientific test but at least it would begin to start answering WTF Stillen.
sorry about the ordeal.
There is a fix for this problem. Over at my350z.com, many guys have tapped a vacuum line off near the throttle body and this somehow fixes the problem. You'll have to do a search or ask around, but I know there is a fix.

i looked around and it seems that the most common fix was to rest the ECU.
Still looking for the vacuum line fix though.
