Performance wise...don't look towards a filter to give you anything. Like I said, they've reported getting better mpg only.

YES...these two were my first mods (as well as many other forum members here). JUST DO IT...You'll love it. Very easy to switch both back to stock when your lease is up. JUST DO IT! You'll hear a nice GROWL under the hood from 3K-5K RPM's.............

+1

Z-tube and K&N made for a great change in sound on my G.
Maybe it was in my head, but I swear it added some power too

The filters are junk. I have a friend that sells them and after a while of heat soak the filter will come unglued from the mount. Other then that the ram is good to go. Just buy one and get a KN cone filter, or another name brand if you really want a intake. If it were me I would just get a Z tube and throw a KN filter in the stock airbox. The stock setup is better then any other intake out.

EBAY INTAKES FTW!

The metal is so thin and crappy that they buckle under the force of the pipe clamps.

If you're getting a drop-in filter, I'd go with the Amsoil EA Nanofiber filter instead.

I've had a K&N drop-in filter in my car for the last 6K miles and my oil has been real dirty since switchign to it. K&N's, although they flow well, let a lot of dirty by. The Amsoil filter is supposed to get almost as good of a flow rate as the K&N drop-in, but catch like 10x as much dirt. They're also a tad bit cheaper than a K&N too.

The part for our car is EAA74 and you can get it on the amsoil site.

https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/Se...KeyWords=EAA74

Everyone that I've heard of who has one has been more than happy with it. And YES... if you get a Z-Tube and either a K&N or Amsoil drop-in filter, you will gain about 1.5 to 2 MPG across the board as well as a nicer exhaust sound at RPM's above 3K.

I recommend doing a search... these types of questions come up very often. Also try doing some searches over on some of the 350Z boards such as my350z.com. 350Z owners seem to like to mod their cars quite a bit and there's a lot of them.

I've yet to hear anything bad about the new EAA filters personally.
