I personally wouldn’t try it, but feel free to be the first one and share your experiences :P
On the side note, for the price, you're better off buying a K&N filter which is a smarter/safer upgrade.

+1 I've had buddies switch to K&N and they reported getting an additional 5mpg

I have a K & N filter that was used for 3 months. It's in its original box, just been too lazy to post it up for sale yet. Excellent condition. $20 if you want to come to Queens for it.

^ I posted the price if you bought it straight from K&N's site or if you bought it from ebay. I hate those crappy aftermarket intakes. I'm too lazy to wash them and too cheap to buy a new one so I run on the same filter for 30k+ miles.

just my .02

keep you stock intake, get a used z tube under 40 bucks and buy a K&N drop in.

Cheapest non-heatsoakable mod with good flow. Our stoc intakes are designed well.
