Motordyne pricing changes?

I just checked the website, http://www.motordyneengineering.com/G35.asp , and I noticed that the MREV+ is no longer an option. Before you purchased the MREV, the MREV+ was an extra. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but before, the MREV was bundled with the 5/16 spacer, now it is also something you must purchase seperately, and the spacer costs $260 now, which is up from the old price...

Whats goin on here?

I think that Tony is changing the buying options to simplify things. Prior, the MREV and MREV+ was only available to the G's with the RevUp engine, which is the '05+ equipped with the 6MT. The MREV made use of the non RevUp's ('03 & '04's) lower collector to afford the RevUp engine excellent gains.

Keep in mind that MREV lower collector is the non RevUp engines lower collector and the MREV+ is a modified version of the same said. Since non RevUp onwners did not benefit from the MREV, since they already had the said lower collector, many of these owners opted for the plenum spacer.

Now, through dyno testing . . . Tony had recently discovered that the non RevUp engines receive good beneficial gains in hp and tq. from the modified non RevUp lower collector aka MREV+ . . . And as such, the non RevUp owners can choose this option.

Motordyne's new buying options simply make it simpler and much less confusing for all owners to choose their desired options. If you were a Non RevUp owner with a plenum spacer the MREV/spacer combo with the MREV+ option did you no good.

Now, with the MREV++ or MREV v2 (depending on what Tony decides to call it), I have to believe at some point only this newest LC version will be available. Eventually, I see only options . . . 1) MREV++ 2) ISO Thermal Plenum Spacer (1/2" 0r 5/16") 3) Copper ISO Thermal Plenum Spacer (1/2" or 5/16"). You pick and choose.

As with regard to the price increase, as I have commented in response to a previous price increase thread . . . It is to be expected. Motordyne has put alot of time and effort into research and producing their products. I will not begrudge them of a decent profit. Especially, when their product has been tested and proven to yield excellent gains by many owners across many forums. Dollar for dollar compared to other mods, the Motordyne products are still the so-called "Best Bang ForThe Buck." Compared to other premium Plenums set-ups, headers, exhausts, cats, etc. you cannot do better for yourself than add the MD products on your list of mods.

Do I sound biased? Hell yes! I am very very pleased with my MD products and decision do to as such. The MREV+ is one of my most productive NA mods. I anxiously await the new MD options.

So, just to clarify then, I MUST buy the MREV+ version (machined non-revup lower plenum), the original MREV is not available anymore, and the 5/16" spacer is NOT included with the price of the MREV?

For some reason I thought that the 5/16" spacer used to be bundled with the MREV.

Yes, the original MREV came bundled with the spacer, Aramid gasket and either a Coolant Control Valve or a Copper Heating Plate depending on which option you chose. The MREV+ was an additional option to the MREV package. So, now you will need to get the MREV+ and choose either the ISO Thermal Plenum Spacer Kit or the Copper ISO Thermal Plenum Spacer Kit.

I don't want to cheat Tony out of a sale, but you may want to wait a bit and do some research and wait for the new MREV set-up. This new set-up doen't have a formal name yet, but look for the MREV++, MREV 2 or the MREV v2 in your search. Actually, here is a link:

It's quite a bit of reading . . . Get some popcorn and soda.
