Re: 350Z tube + stock air box, installed

There is a post somewhere in this forum where someone dyno'd their G with and without the stock air filter. The difference was only 1.5 HP. I don't think that a K&N filter would give you more HP than no filter.

Can't argue with that logic, however, the K&N will flow better than the stock filter over time. IOW, It will flow better when dirty than a stock filter.

Re: 350Z tube + stock air box, installed

I started out my mod process with just a K&N filter over the stock
air filter. Thought I noticed some improvement, but not really
much of anything. Then, months later I added the 350Z duct.
This really improved the sound and I felt a butt dyno increase
in performance. I continued with this 350K duct/K&N drop in
for about 1 month. Then I got the $tillen Hi-Flow Airbox.......
What a world of difference! The sound is incredible and I
feel those 11 HP. I refuse to turn on my CD or radio because
the noise will interfer with the music my $tillen and 350Z duct
are producing. I will sell my K&N drop in to anyone
who is interested.

Re: 350Z tube + stock air box, installed

Hi, im going to buy a 2004 G35 sedan near the end of the year, and i just came to this site because i wanted to read more about the car, and learn about mods. It seems that this mod is the easiest, and cheapest, with the most benefit. Id like to know if adding the 350z duct is easiy enough for someone that has never worked on cars but has a good understanding of the mechanics and such. Also, how much is the 350z duct and where can it be purchased. Also, it seems that the stillen air hi-flow airbox is much better than the K&N filter, and that its worth the money, so is the stillen airbox easy enough to install for a guy like me, and how much is it and where can it be purchased. Thanks so much, and if you have any more easy mod recomendations id be more than happy to accept them.

The 350Z duct is a simple easy install, took me all of 10 minutes.
The $tealin Hi-Flow Air Box was a little more difficult. That took
me between 1 to 1.5 hours. Bought my 350Z duct on the internet
from Jayson, and got the $tealin from www.stillen.com

Tory,

The 350Z tube through Jayson will cost you $75+ shipping. In my case it was $7 shipping to LA, CA. There is another post a few below this one that gives you Jayson's info. Later

How could it? That part is stock on the Nissan 350Z car sporting the
same engine we have in the G35.

What about the Emmisions Tube? I ordered the Air Box, but have not purchased the Z Tube yet. I saw a picture but could not tell if this emmisions connection hooked up to the Z tube or if it is just left unhooked (hope not). I have attached a picture below of the connection I am talking about. Thanks for any info on this.

The hose fiting your aksing about is on the "Z" tube as well. The only difference is location, it's on the bottom of the tube, not the top. But, it's there and hooks up the exact same way. Also, the slot for the screw that mounts on the plenum there too. It's an exact fit. Don't worry about it.
