DIY plenum Polishing

anyone done this? i was going to try and do it myself. my main concern is oxidation. will this occur? is there a way to prevent it? thanks

I've polished aluminum castings and keep them looking good with an occasional metal polish "tune-up".

Ops! Polished the wrong side.

Can you give us instructions on how to do this. What sort of materials do I need? I heard that polishing the inside of the plenum can improve add a few ponies due to better airflow.

It's not that bad. You'll need some tools like a Die grinder. I'm doing mine right now and I'll be doing my lower plenum too. I'm just finding out what abrasives do the best job in certain areas. You can have a peak at them below. Polishing and Porting (according to Tony) gave us 4 additional ponies at the wheels by doing so. If all goes well, I was planning to offering you guys the service of PnPing your upper and lower collectors. For a small fee of course.
