What Do I Need To Keep My Daily Driver?

Hi everyone!

Just want to ask if changing my intake, exhaust and / or y-pipe would cause my Daily G35 drive to have less torque or HP at lower rpm speeds?

I used to own a turbo'd car and I want my G to be clean, manageable and have gobs of torque and HP at any rpm, and not just at the high end RPM.
Got tired of all that lag and stuff

Thanks in advance!

What year is your car, is it a manual or auto?

2005 Auto, Why? Is there some reason that this will effect how the car handles?

now onto the subject...
if you get a CAI you will sacrifce low end tq for high end power, obviously not what you want. If you get a short ram intake you wont lose any power down low and will gain a little up top plus you'll have a faster throttle response (atleast that's been my experience with my 05 5at) Stillen claims the most hp/tq numbers on their exhaust, although i would look into the HKS just for the pure extasy of sound it provides.

Ah ic, thanks a lot for the info! Didn't realise the difference in motors. I'm such a newb . How about the plenum spacers or intake plenum or MREV's I read in many posts? Is that a good mod?

Very good mod... everyone likes the MREV... the ones who dont... are the ones who expect way too much gain out of it (they think its gonna feel like FI)

Thanks for the info everyone. My verys first mod will be arriving soon: 18 inch Blitz Technospeed Z1 Rims. Can;t wait to post those pics

Then after some bodykits (Ings Drool...)
I'll see if i can bag me a set of Fujitsubo Y-pipes and Exhaust. Will research on Intakes tho... The Blitz SUS power intake looks good.

exhaust & y-pipe will cause signifigantly noticeable down-low loss.

headers+hfcs for a gain across the entire band, no loss.

Oh dear! Let me guess, back pressure? So fitting an exhaust is a no-no? Then how about all the claims in other posts especially using test pipes to replace cats?

the cats are the most restrictive part of the exhaust. headres and hfc/test pipes will make power everywhere; td catbacks will generally sacrifice low-end torque for mroe up-top power

G35 Coupe "Sport Package"
You should not loose any low end if you stay away from true dual exhaust setup and you are NA. The exception being the HKS with the H pipe. I think Injen is adding an H pipe to their systems for the Z and G. If you go with exhaust system and are NA I would choose something like the Y-pipe back systems from Fuji, Tanabe or JIC. I would replace the y-pipe if you are going to replace exhaust since that is a very restrictive part.
