if you would of had a pro tinter do it, you wouldn't of needed to buy 3 sets.

^+1 Bat's overlays are what...$40 a pair, so you spent $120 when it would've only costed you between $25-40 at the pro tint shop. Maybe Bat himself will chime in and give you pics

Run a search, cause there are a bunch of postings on how people like to put them on.

How exactly did you try to put them on? Let us know so we can figure out where you went wrong

Are you using the full overlays or the GTR3 type with the cut-outs? If it's the GTR-style, I'd say your problem is likely that you aren't cutting them where needed. I didn't realize they needed it until it was too late as well. Trimming will probably give you better results, as you won't be having to try to shrink so mutch and keep everything lined up.

FWIW, I did take my second set to a vinyl-sign shop for installation. The guy had a hard time between trimming and shrinking. Eventually, he got them to fit pretty good with a little overlap (which I wasn't happy with). The big problem is that he didn't have the patience after all of that to get all of the bubbles out and, contrary to his belief but very much in line with Bat's instructions, the bubbles didn't bake out. I had ostrich-skin overlays. Too many bubbles to pop, so I pulled them off and will instead paint the housings to achieve the appropriate look.

Here's a guide to applying my Overlays :

http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=34653

On my hgtr3 kit where there is a seam at the bottom, simply take an xacto knife and apply just enough pressure to cut off the overlap ! Do this when it dries completely. As far as air bubbles go, what you need to do when applying them is work from the middle of the overlay to the outside. There are quite a few threads on hear that show how people have done the install with success. Do a Search. Also remember, when you first place the Overlay onto tyhe surface, it's not going to appear to line up. Ofcourse not! It's not a flat surface. But as you slowly work the Overlay down, you'll notice how everything lines up nicely .

As far as him paying $120 for 3 sets. I highly doubt that. I'm good at giving pretty good discounts on 2nd sets . In fact most of the people that do need another set actually only need one piece because they figured it out after applying the 2nd piece!
