removing center grille on 06 g35c

maybe im stupid or something but i removed the four clips on the top and the thing still wont budge..

am i missing something or what?

also, i PMed a couple of you about this but since im on the subject anyway..

the body shop down the street from my house (w/ good reputation in my town) said they could and would paint my 06 oem grille but it will start to chip in a couple of years or less..

is there some kind of special paint for the plastic chrome grille? i want to paint it gloss black..

thanks!

Dont worry about the chips. Theyre bound to happen anyways. My body shop said the same thing. Just gotta live with it and when it gets bad enough, have it re-painted. I have the Gialla style grill tho but I would think that with any grill it would be the same. Make sure they sand the chrome so the paint sticks and doesnt peel off

As for installation, the four top clips need to be removed and then there are two lower ones that need to be un-clipped.

IIRC, there are 4 tabs on the bottom section of the OEM grille. Look from the engine side of the grille and it will be self-explanatory. In addition, there are two clips (one on each side) that need to be turned 1/4 turn clockwise or counterclockwise before you can pull the grille off. Hit up caskyline or sundeviljay if you want your OEM grille painted. They can even fill in the area where the emblem goes like it was never there.

4 clips on top. 4 (I think) tabs on bottom. 2 square clips (1 on each side) which look like <->. You need to turn the 2 square clips so they look like [\]. Just look around. Everything is plainly visible.
