interest in another gialla replica?

hey guys... i just spoke with my future bodyshop AutoExplosion in Gardena.

i bought a gialla replica on ebay [yea i know i should be shot]....and the fit was less than crappy... so he offered me to make us a $180 replica of the gialla grill that would fit perfect [you can check his website (http://www.autoexplosion.net/ ) for his quality work]...he did the famous candy apple red marble G coupe with the custom molded lip... i know that SP has the grill for the same price... but he would make any adjustments you guys would like and also paint the mesh with a higher quality finish... also, i know a lot of you guys are in SoCal so you could even pick up your grills at the shop once production is in full swing... i need 10 people to get this started and $90 deposits... let's get this going guys! they dont have the nickname "the bomb shop" for making things look ugly...

Just save up and get the real deal..... What if it comes out looking like crap? You trusted some guy on e-bay and now you trust this guy. By the time you are done you probably could have bought the real thing.

well, i'm trusting this guy based on the fact that he is the number one custom bodykit fabricator in SoCal... and the fact of the matter is that i do have a crappy grill, and that he's interested in fixing mines and possibly making a mold of it and selling it if it is worth his while... i'm just trying to give the G35 crowd a SP grill alternative... p.s. i HIGHLY recomend caskyline's modifyed OEM grills too~

I dont get how they can charge that much for fiberglass. I get that both fiber and poly have their ups and downs, but... its so cheap to make.

I've heard too many mixed reviews about the SP grill. Some love it, some hate it. I don't want to try and win the lottery by buying an SP grill and hoping it fits well.

Auto Explosion is a very good shop. They have done bodywork on my other car in the past, and will do it again in the future. I'm probably gonna have them work on my G aswell. I would be interested if they could make a good fitting one.

okay... well...you mind trying to find 8 other people with me? lol... i guess people dont understand that this is a big thing cuz its coming from a guy who's used to fitting crappy versions of replica kits and knows what a hassle it is to paint and prep these bad copies... so he's willing to basically customize a gialla replica to fit perfect ... and even install / paint for you if you're in the LA area... i dont even live in gardena... but i drove 40 mins just to check out his shop... and i gotta say... with two G's in parkinglot with work-in-progress AND a full kenstyle kit, it was more than convincing...

Can he still paint and send them, and promise a perfect fit?

yea...i'm sure... except if you have ivory pearl like me... i'd suggest you get it painted WITH your car... just an idea though...

basically... i dont have to guarantee his work... if you've looked thru his gallery...you'll recognize plenty of his work in import tuner, super street, etc... he does top notch stuff...
