For those with Aftermarket front Bumper
I just had my car reclear coated with a body shop but its paid by insurance because it was damaged on the entire car. Some kind of acid burn right through the clear coat. Luckily didn't get to the paint.
Anyways, While it was in the shop I purchased the Kuruma Z bumper and ask them to paint and install it. Intial rough quote was around 300 bucks if it just fits like a glove.
After they got the bumper test fit the kuruma z and said they need to cut some part out in the bottom front of the car to fit the Kuruma Z.
I said ok, how much? he said he didn't know until the start workin on it and put them on.
I kept calling everyday and ask them how much its going to be.
The manager kept on telling me he doesn't have the numbers done. He said he'll know when its close to done or completed.
So today I got a phone call and said that the bill for the front bumper was $712 bucks just to paint and install the freakin bumper!!!
Am I getting ripped off??? or is the paint the DG is that expensive??
btw my car is 06. The kuruma z might still have an 05 mold. I dunno how different the fitting on the 05 and 06.
I haven't picked up the car yet.
But 712 is way too expensive, I was expecting $300 and at most $400.
This body does a great job(maybe ripping people off too), I've seen their work and my friend whose a car collector uses this body shop to restore his collectible cars.
Some input would be appreciated!!

why would they even charge you extra for that? thats like a 10 minute job LOL. If the bumper you got fits right, then i cant imagine paying anything more than 300. If they want to charge you extra to put the bumper on etc... just do it yourself haha.

def dont pay more than $500 and make sure for that price that the paint job is perfect, cause DG can be a PITA to match
The skid plate actually does reach the kuruma z bumper... you just need to cut a couple small pieces off the kuruma z bumper (so you can put the metal clips on it) and drill some holes so everything lines up. Took me about 10 minutes to cut with a dremel and drill the holes. To paint and prep the bumper and Impul sides cost me $600... so $712 is a little high. +1 on the DG color match... mine was off when I went to pick it up, so they re-painted it... looks great now.
Ok guys, I just got back.
The Plus:
Color match - PERFECT!
Fitment - PERFECT!
The Minus:
Reinforcement beam needs to adjusted
Foam reinforment needs to be cut to fit.
The brackets need to be adjust dramatically.
Basically the fitment issues was plenty made it really costly.
But, I couldn't complain about their work at all because it was perfect....
Just too freakin expensive!!!
Kuruma Z looks good fitment wasn't great.

When I had the kit put on my Lexus, the shop told me they may have to cut and make some adjustments to fit the kit. I asked them to take that in consideration and include it in the estimate. When they were done, the wwanted to charge hundreds more because they underestimated the labor. They couldn't because I had a written estimate. I offered an extra 200 in good faith but took back my offer when they started talking crap.
