okay you just need a ratchet to loosing the bolt on where factory's locking adivse is, then move the locking plate down a little bit then tighten it. then you are set, you don't need to touch your hinges. No need and don't mess with the hinges near the windsheild. you got problme then pm me.

air ratchet will be even more eiser otherwise muscle need it.

should be fine, try it. i hope that helps you. just hope isn't your plenum's issue. if is your plenum's issue then do the opposite, raise up the locking plate a bit until you can lock it then as long as you can lock your hood first then go buy a pair hood pins. keep me update.

I am very sure it's not the plenum, cause i have seen others with this same hood with plenum & didn't had any problem, plus i checked the clearence already & it's the stupid factory locking that causing all the drama....

I had to cut a hood latch off another hood. Then cut the seibon one off and weld the other on to make it longer.

hood

This is my hood on my car, you can see that space is very tiny. I moved the locking plate down about 1/4" at the time until i am happy with the space.

I didn't have any problems with mine. I just push down with two hands and it locks.

Mine had no gaps on the stock grill, and a small one on the SP grill.
