Where is the gas tank located?

Will driving screws into the trunk floor damage it ?

I think it's under the rear passenger seat, but don't go drilling holes until you confirm.

Yea the spare tire is where the gas would normally be and the exhaust sits so high on the other end, soo, I'm guessing that the tank would be under there. But i dont know where it starts because you also have the diff. back there so saying that it's under the back seat would be a safe bet. But as ryoken said. Check and double check before you bust out the dremel.

is it just me or does the car handle a lot different when the tank is full vs 1/4 tank. Normaly when the tank is located bewteen the wheels the car's handling wont change much vs when the tank is under the trunk. so im not really sure were the tank is.

 

The fuel tank is located directly above the rear suspension assembly (rear crossmember) and right below the body in that area. My recommendation... do not drill through the floor in that area or anytime you can't see what's on the otherside. It could end up being real expensive.

 

A 20 gallon tanks holds a lot of gas. Gas is almost 6lbs per gallon. So that's approx. 90 lbs of extra weight (15 * 6). Plus, it's not fixed weight.. it's liquid, and it sloshes and shifts around when you're making aggressive turns.
