debadging grill...

debadging grill...

why wont the badge come off my grille? i dont wanna force it and snap it incase i want to put it back.............. am i missing something?

open up the hood and there are two prong-like things on the badge that you need to squeeze towards each other. i don't know if this is clear enough... but yea you have to get the badge out from the inside.

not sure yet was thinking of either getting my grill powdercoated black along with my OEM19's and leaving the emblem chrome, or just replacing the entire grill...

I had mine painted flat black and then put the crome badge back on, it really makes the Infiniti logo stand out. I hated the look of the crome grille

i thought powdercoating involved a high temp bake...wouldn't that melt the plastic grill?

i dont know much about powdercoating. i just remember reading (several times) that powdercoating grilles would not work.

yaa powdercoating requires baking so itll melt the grill

What you want to do with the grille is a technique called vacuum metalizing that performs a plating process over plastic. There's a shop here in SoCal (Westminster) called M&M Metalizing that does that type of work, do a search in your area and I'm sure you can find someone who does this.

And those type of shops usually can do 'black chrome' too.
That's my next planned project to match my black chrome rear emblems, though heard it aint cheap to have done, but would look awesome imo.

i like the chrome grill. it gives the G its "luxury" look... afterall, its a luxury sports car. lol
