To remove taillights
Does anyone have DIY to take off our taillights so I can put the JDM 06+?
I have no idea how to take those off.
Maybe I have to take off the rear bumper first?

no need to take the bumper off just remove the plastic peice where the latch is that is held on with clips and then remove the clips that hold the carpet panel then remove the panel behind the tail light and there is about 3 or 4 bolts that hold the light in its not that hard to do.

the orange lens must be cut out with a dremel and replaced with some other sort of plastic - a custom job.
Well i will try to explain it here....
First you need to take off the plastic peice that the trunk latches into...you will feel like its going to brake, but its just pretty secure so tuge that thing off...then you will see the little tabs with rings on them that i believe your cargo net attaches to pop those out with a flat head screw driver. Once that is done there are three nuts that secure the lights to the body they are all hex style..something like 10mm im not even sure. Disconect the wires then unscrew those 3 nuts per light. 2 of the nuts are towards the outside...kind of right behind the brake light and the other one is right behind the reverse light.
haha sorry for the ghetto write up, hope it helps.

I can confirm that they are 10mm bolts. I was really afraid of breaking the trunk latch plastic (the first step). Here's how to remove it: pull it *straight up* with your hands *around* the plastic piece. Don't put your hands on the inside of the plastic piece and the body of your car. Also, don't *bend* it when trying to pull it out. Just straight up. Do one side at a time. The things that hold it in place are not latches, so you won't break anything.
by the way, there are instructions on how to change taillights in the owner's manual under DYI Maintenance.
