Yeah your right. Its more of a cosmetic project. But the material is a real carbon fiber instead of some other overlay out there! It is coated with special epoxy on it that will show the gloss finish and it will be clear coated as well.

Updates!!
Yesterday we worked out on the trunk!
Took out the emblems and the spoiler. Welded and grinded the wholes.

Sanded out more!!

Painted em' in black!


By the way here's the material..

Set the on top of it!



Tah Dahhh.. Applied epoxy stuff.. 2 coats..

And that's my trunk!!

Is there a special type of resin that you're using? Or is it the "bondo" brand that you can buy almost anywhere?
Also i thought for carbon fiber stuff, you had to use some kind of vacuum thingy. I've been reading around on the board and people have been saying you need to use some kind of vacuum. are you just placing the resin on top of the CF and letting it set that way?

2. No vacuum. Yes we do spread the resin on top of it but we also do use rollers. Also once you got a mix of harderner on resin it should be just baking a cake!!
Remember, my pics are not finish product yet.. I might take another coat or so. And later on it will but sanded, cut the edges, and spray some clear on it!
