debadging help! pics included!

hey guys recived my G 2 weeks ago and i planned to debadge today, i used a hair dryer to warm the glue up and use fishing line to remove them, i was trying it, but i saw alot of tape glue under the words only the G was coming of and the white glue was still on the car, i was thinking not to go futher and stop there and ask on the forums, will the glue come off with goo gone? or will it be permenent? the glue is very thick , i dont wanna mess up my new G coupe. i posted some pics of the promblem.

thanks alot

try to heat it up more and get the line closer to the paint so you can get most of the glue. be careful not to scratch your paint. get some goo gone to remove the rest of the residue.

you don't have to heat it up to remove it. Just twist the letters and it will come off. When you take the letters off then some of the glue will still be on the car. I used regular alcohol and micro fiber towel to remove it. Don't rub the towel all over the trunk and don't do long strokes. Just right on the spot where the glue is. Wrap the towel over the finger or something and gently apply pressure on the glue spot and switch to clean surface of the towel for the next pass so that old glue that is on the towel will not stick to the car again or scratch it.

That is how I did it and It's flawless.

Go for man!
Mine had a lot of that glue/foam/gooy stuff left on the paint when I debadged.
I did what 'Joker' did, except I used Gunks bug and tar remover, which pretty much the same as goo gone.

Since yours so new, it should come off real easy.

Don't forget to wash those areas after and apply a good coat of wax.

the hardest part was debadging the mt. fuji, that sucker had a lot of adhesive left on the car. just make sure you let the goo gone soak for a little bit and that should make it a little easier on you. don't rub too hard either or else youre gonna be left with some minor scratches but some wax works well too.

dental floss, wrapp around each letter and scoopem off, then pour some goo-gone (CVS carries it) on a microfiber and rub it out, it'll look great.

I also used WD-40 to remove the glue residue on my car. Just make sure to wash the grease off. I used dishwashing liquid to wash mine off.
