got hit with tire tread

i was perfectly fine on the highway and then all of a sudden the pickup in front of me rides shoots tire tread back out at me. he was only about a car length or so away because of traffic and to the right and left me were cars so i had no where to go. i moved over to the right as far as possible (since the tire came from the left side of the pickup) without hitting the guy in my right lane. i didnt manage to fully avoid it and so i was hit and my bumper got scraped. only thing is, the mark is not big enough where i have to paint it right away, but its not small enough where it isnt noticeable. either way, its still a pain and i dont know if i should paint it now or wait and get a new bumper and paint that. the latter will be more costly and will take a while. what do you think?

file a comprehensive claim on your auto insurance. shouldn't affect your rates since no other car was involved. (I have $0 deductible for comp. since I'm on the highway a lot and expect that exact thing to happen sooner or later...)
