Talking CF TS Hood repair, with paint fade

Well early this year i closed my hood and pushed to hard and cracked the hood, it wasn't a major crack. pic are in the old threads below.

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-coupe-v35-2003-07/137984-crack-d-my-cf-hood.html
https://g35driver.com/forums/interior-exterior/152948-can-up-repair-cf-hoods.html

i went with option number 1 from this poll
https://g35driver.com/forums/interior-exterior/161074-urgent-getting-cf-hood-repaired-need-you-opinion.html

Well finally found a place that could do it. And they did a damn good job i might add. Since i cracked front of the hood i didn't want to paint everything, just near the crack, i like the look of a paint'd hood except the vents, but on a black car, it's not really gonna make a diff. Ok enough typing, the pictures show what i mean better.

That is an excellent idea. I would be tempted to do that even if I did not mess up my carbon fiber hood. Looks very unique. Good job.

Just to add to my son's post. The custom body shop also mentioned that carbon fiber hoods are not clear coated. And will slowly turn brown if not clear coated. It looks like clear coat but it's just the resin. They had to cut out the cracked area and redo the resin and then sanded the whole hood. After they did the fade paint, they then clear coated it. The clear coat with protect it from UV rays. These guys are not your normal body shop. Here's a link to their site. Check out the cars they have done. http://www.impatientcreations.com/index.html

That came out very nice. I still like that hood with just the vents in CF too.
