Nismo Front Bumper Install (comments/suggestions/how toos)

My NISMO is finally Done. And in the process I did a few things differently then I read about on the forum so I want to share some of this things with you so those of you that will do this in the future have something to rely on.

First thing first.................Find a damn good shop to paint it. Make sure they do allllllooooooooot of after market work. Even if you get a cheaper quote from someone that does not do or did any after market painting DO NOT DO IT. Go with those that know how it's done.

Second.............When painting front NISMO or any other front bumper that does not have integrated grill and does have holes for OEM grille hookup on the bottom.........DO NOT PAINT IT. It will show through the grille and you going to have to spray it like I'm going to tomorrow.

Here is what I'm talking about.........You can see white bumper showing through the grille on the bottom opening of the grille.

Next very important pointer.............On installing the mesh. Lots of member on here suggest self drilling screws for it. Such shown over here .

I do not suggest to use these. Even if you use a very small ones. I suggest to pre-drill a small hole with a small drill bid and then just put in regular screws. That way you avoid not being able to control the screw and eliminate a chances of a screw going trough the bumper.

Couple of pix.

Here is pre-drilled bumper

Just a tiny little bid no need for anything else

use small screws and washers big enough to hold your mesh.

Final Product.

Next important thing to do on Nismo install is this.

OEM bumper has metal brackets riveted to the sides where it bolts to the fender. When you take off the OEM bumper, drill those plastic rivets out and take those two brackets off the bumper. Use then on your nismo cuz otherwise there is nothing there to hold it.

Now moving on to suggestions for the manufacture.

I don't want to sound complaining I'm just suggesting. If you (Klumzee) feel like what I said is somehow going to damage your sales. Let me know I'll remove this from this post.

Bumper needs improvement in mesh attaching points.
Just slap a little bit more polly there so we could use some serious screws. What's there is plenty but it never hurts to have more. Kinda gives you more room for error.

Improvement Improvement Improvement. It's never hurts to do more of it.
Strongly suggest to improve on the mold, especially on the holes. It would be super nice to have all of that already cut out or molded with holes pre made already.
Make it easier for us

Everything else is great. Fitment is superb product is excellent.

Here is night pic of finished product. (Will take some bad a$$ ones this weekend, Hopefully I can talk my wife and her sisters to pose with a car for me........Should be funn)

So how are you planning on getting this fixed? Are you going to paint the portion that shows black to match with the grille?

Yeah. I'll just take the grille out. Slap some tape on the bumper and around the hood and **** and spray some black paint over.

I just bolted up in the corners. Just drilled the holes in the bumper and bolted up to the plastic. Middle I did not do. I just put bumper over plastic so that air that goes underneeth the car will not bend plastic out and I just left it that way.

I'll take some pix today after I spray the bumper. You'll see what I'm talking about.
