Debadging questions

Hello, I have two questions about debadging. When using the dental floss or fishing line to remove the badges, do you place it between the badge and the adhesive, or between the adhesive and the body of the car? Second, is it true that the mt. fuji logo on the trunk of the car is bolted to the car? Thanks in advance.

1) doesn't matter. remove all excess glue with googone or wd40.

2) on sedans, yes.

Theres No Way You Can Get All The Adhesive Off With Either

You Should Use Goo Gone To Remove Whatever Is Left

I Never Tried Wd40 ..

Bummer. I wanted to remove it. Oh well, at least there will be one emblem on the back, and one on the front.

BTW, I used WD-40 to get masking tape off of my wife's car when it was decorated for our wedding. It was 110 degrees that day and the masking tape cooked on. The WD-40 did a great job taking the tape residue off.

rubbing alcohol works really well to take off the remaining adhesive. whatever you use, however, make sure to clean the area thoroughly afterwards.

Is there an easy way to remove or get rid of the "Ghost" letters that are left behind from debadging? You can still see remains of my "Infiniti" letters, though I took them off about 2 to 3 weeks ago... and yes, I took all the glue off as well. Steps to doing this would be awesome.

WD40 did nothing but make the glue a slippery mess. As far as the ghost letters, I can't help you there.

I just washed and waxed the car afterwards. The ghosting was still there for a bit. I ended up needing a full detail and I never saw the ghosting again.

I'd say debadging works best during the summer when the sun will heat up the panels and soften up the adhesive. The other method is to use a heat gun or blow dryer.
