there isn't a big weight difference between the stock hood and all other c/f hoods.

Like it has been said before, went it rains your engine bay will just get dirtier faster, and also i think it was said above, only authentic TS hoods have rain guards, seibon does not, which i what i have. As for water getting to your intake, the intake has to be submerged or covered with a fair amount of water to suck in enough water to hydro lock. And if your driving will its raining it not like much water get down in there anyways, When i wash my car i hose it down like i would anything else.

^ thats not true at all the OEM hood weighs WAYY more then the CF hood.. 3x-4x the weight of a cf hood = oem

As far as opening and closing the hood (Authentic TS and Seibon weight the same from that expereience).

Are you saying the Seibon hood only weighs 7-10 lbs?

Our stock hoods are actually very light. I'm having trouble believing that the c/f hoods for our cars are 3-4 times lighter than our stock hood. I've lifted both are stock hood and a Seibon OEM c/f hood (I installed a Seibon c/f hood on my car a few months ago) and the c/f hood did not feel significantly lighter. Lifting the c/f hood after lifting the OEM hood (or vice versa), the OEM hood may seem relatively heavy to some people, but it really isn't (IMO).

I thought most people have already established that c/f hoods/trunks are purely cosmetic. Yes, they're going to be lighter, but not enough to make a difference.

Eric, got any numbers to back that up? If it's true, then cool. Either way, the difference in weight isn't going to be "OMG" noticeable.

Hai, do you know the weight of our OEM hoods?

Comparing weights by lifting the hood isn't a good measure of the actual weight difference, and will likely make the weight difference appear to be more than the actual difference because you are lifting from an edge, which magnifies any weight differences due to the torque differences applied at the hinges. Until you actually put both hoods on a scale that is large enough to hold the hood steadily, I'm going to have to say there is no way the CF hood only weighs 7-10 lbs. The hinge assembly alone is probably 3-4lbs by itself already, and wet layed resin isn't exactly light.

I don't think one is going to be able to offer a hood 3-4x lighter than the oem aluminum hood.
