2005 G35 sport coupe paint problems?

Sounds Like you work for Infiniti (never gone), The whole soft paint thing is crap. The paint should be durable and the clearcoat should be too. Period. I also have an 05 Ford Expedition and it has 3 times the miles on it without any signs of paint problems. It is also Black. I have owned a BMW and a Grand Prix and they had no paint problems. I bet if I bet if I bought a Kia it would be fine also. Infiniti has just put too little paint on their cars and it shows. I can see my bumper showing more abuse but not the hood of my car. It looked worse than the bumper. I had it repainted and 9K miles later not mark exists.

OK - so yes, the paint is softer than some, and harder than others. Softer paint is there for a specific reason - LESS CHANCE OF GETTING ROCK CHIPS, etc. It's not hard - or as brittle as others - so rock chips are harder to get, and any damage, like pits, are actually easier to repair without major work.
If your getting lots of rock chips - then its where your driving or who you are driving behind.

Plus of any thing touches the car it leaves a blemish. Dont blame it on Black paint 'cause that is all I ever own. My body guy remembers a paint recall from PPG awhile back but cant seem to get any answers from Infiniti.

I had my front bumper repainted once already about a year ago....The original paint was soo badly pitted and chipped, it made my car look 10yrs older.
But, the new paint is no better IMO, I've already racked up my share of new chips.
