this seal is primarily used on a wooden garage doors (that's why you get the nail in the package). It's not a particularly cold climate thing, it's a seal for any wooden garage door used in any climate. It prevents from water, snow, dirt, bugs and other things from getting into your garage.

Look for it in any hardware store in a garage door hardware section. (ask for wooden garage door seal)

Someone earlier asked about solid rubber. It's not solid rubber. It is that foam type rubber that you have described.

I don't know if it has been mentioned before or not but the tape that shows in picture is too thin IMO. There is a wider tape available that pretty much covers the entire width of the rubber piece (which is shown in other pictures where it is actually being installed on the car). When using a wider tape it helps keeping dirt from getting between the bumper and untaped portion of the rubber seal, also it prevents from ripping off the seal if you scrape. Also when you apply tape on the rubber seal make sure you apply it just a few mm inside the edge of the seal that will be facing forward once installed on the bumper.

IMO it looks best on bumpers that have flat bottom line. Bumpers that have steps in them could compromise the looks of the seal.

It's a good cheap lip. I've had one on my Mustang and my Conquest for years now. It's a old Tuner mod but still prolly one of the best cheap tricks.

if you guys want a nice subtle look, you can flip it a different way, there's basically 3 different ways you can turn it. Here's how it looks on my car flipped with the small part out for a subtle look.

does this really protect the under part of the bumper from scraping when entering driveways and such? Seems like its a one way protection. It would only protect upon entering driveways and not exiting. I assume this because the way the rubber flap moves.

Maybe its me.. but I wouldnt be caught dead putting garage door weather stripping on an Infiniti. And the fact that it sticks out and can be seen....

My NISMO bumper will be here this week. If anything Ill be cutting a piece of lexan to go under the bumper.... a piece you CANT see

^ a lot of guys wouldn't be caught dead rollin on Axis wheels and no centercaps either, it's all about individual taste and needs.

the reason this lip appeals to so many people is because it's extremely useful and though it can't compete with the sexiness of a Carbon Fiber splitter it looks pretty darn good.

Prob one of the weakest comebacks Ive ever heard. You're comparing owning a certain make of wheels to putting something you find in the lawn and garden dept. on your car....

^ wasn't trying to make any kind of comeback, just got annoyed by your ignorance. It's obvious that this lip protects front bumpers from scraping and has saved a lot of our forum member's butts plenty of times, but hey you know it all a lot better than any of us right.

and come on man, we're driving Infiniti's, it's a Nissan, not a Ferrari
