My driver's seat belt does not always fully retract. It is not twisted or anything like that. It just does fully return back when I unbuckle and leave the car. It usually results in catching the slacking part between the door and door-sill. Is it a warranty case? Should I go to the dealer to have it fixed?
Thanks!
Thanks!

As long as you are in your warranty time, they will fix it. I had mine fixed...seems like after 40000 miles, seem to wear down. Just tell them its a major safety issue and they will get on it.

does it happen everytime or just once and a while? Cuzit happens to mine too every so often, but all i do is just tuck it back in myself, it's not that big of a deal IMO.

Haha..you guys are hilarious. Here is the CHEAP EASY fix. There is a tsb for this but if are out of warranty you are SOL. But here is what the dealer does.
Step1: Locate the D ring, its the last loop your seat belt goes through as it retracts.
Step 2: Lift up the seat belt to expose the D-Ring. You should find a whole bunch of gunk (seatbelt residue) from the seat belt always sliding on it.
Step 3: Extend your seatbelt and use a binder clip (those black things with silver legs) to clip the seat belt so it can't retract.
Step 4: Use a soapy sponge on the D-ring to clean that ****. Get all the residue off.
Step 5: Pull and retract the seatbelt multiple time to get it used to sliding back.
This helped me and mine doesn't do it anymore. It's exactly what the dealer does except these also put a piece of Flourine-Resin tape to trap future seatbelt residue.
Let me know if this helps.

Good one. But I am fvcking lazy and still under warranty so I will let the dealership do it for me Originally Posted by Mr Inkredibul

+ they give me that tape thing so it won't happen againI took it to the dealer. They tried to do something with D-ring but it did not help. So, they went ahead and replaced the whole seatbelt assembly. I'm happy. It did not cost me a dime under warranty.
