So im confused now. I would like for it to be quite hard to see me. I have a light interior so i need a darker tint. So as you say klumzyee, It will look the same from the outside? So putting another layer of 15% is pointless? It seems like DesignZ may think differently..

When you had double 5% on your back window, did it look like 5% but only let in that small amount of light?

In the case that I do just take off the tint, how much do you think is reasonable? I think last time he quoted me at 80$ to take it all off.

iv heard its bad to double layer the tint from 2 different tinters... the only time they said that should be done is when you are putting both layers on at the same time... (like dont get 15% then a month later put onother layer of 15%...)

Its never a good idea. Film does not stick as well to itself as it does with glass. Film is porous and made to breath. You add a layer to existing tint and the failure rate of the first layer goes up.

Well I went with getting a second layer. It looks amazing. I also got 40% on the windshield. It isn't hard to see out at all but the sides and back are pretty hard to see out of at night.. They shouldn't peel but if they do, i can just call the guy and he will fix it. He has been doing it for 3 years so hes pretty good at it. Ill put up before and after pics once its sunny tomorrow..
