The defroster function isn't very important to me, the car is garaged and might spend 3-4 nights a year out in the cold where the defrosters are necessary. $160 isn't too much of an investment, and I can always take them off if I don't like them and resell.

the convex mirror does give you a wider view. I have them and it took a while for me to get use to it cause when oyu compare to our stock side mirrors everything I could see from corvex mirror.
