Is there a way to Unsmoked tails

My friend just purchased a used g35 and the car came with smoked lights.

Is there a way to unsmoke them or is getting new tail lights the only option

if it's vinyl overlay you'll beable to remove them but if they're painted he'll have to get new ones, check the edges when the trunk is open you'll beable to tell if it's an overlay

or he can trade with someone on here that wants smoked ones,

I say do a search under "overlays". There are several examples on how to remove them usually from improper installation or having to start over. You should find what you are looking for.

Just heat them with a heat gun or blow dryer and peal off.

if it's smoked by the smoke tint, you can sand it off and polish the lens again.

90% of the the time they are overlays.. Just peel em off, I highly doubt they're paint.

I peeled both of mine off without a blow dryer in less than 1 min.

If its paint or spray, get a pan... and place the tails lense side down in brake fluid.. let them soak for a day. i did this with my old car and the paint just fell right off them, never clouded or harmed the plastic one bit.... Then use any plastic scratch/polish and buff them up with a nice microfiber towel... worked great for me...

For tint spray, use rubbing alcohol and it'll remove everything off the taillights.
