So I'm gonna have my coupe tinted this week but I dont know what % I should get.
Im living in NC (but registered in VA) but in NC I dont feel like the cops are too strict as far as pulling somebody over for having illegal tints, but in VA i think they might be a little worse. That being said, I wont be in VA all that often and definitely plan on going darker than legal (which I believe is 35% in both states) but I really don't want it really dark. Im thinking in the 20-30% range but would like to hear some suggestions from you guys, taking into account what you think will look good on the Lakeshore Slate
....haha, and i know that more than half of you will say "F- that, go with 5%"
, but that's just not what I wanna do
thank you all!

I just recently tinted mine and living in VA, I didnt wanna go 5% because i know Johnny Law would be on my ***. In the end I went with the 15%, from what you said thats as dark as you'd want. My G is black, but when I have sunroof closed and the front windshield parked opposite of the sun it still looks completely blacked out. 15 was perfect for me, hope you find what your lookin for!
I live in WV, and they can be tough on tint. 35% is legal, but I still went 20%. I think the lil bit darker tint looks better, but even at 20% I can open the sunroof and let light in so it doesnt appear so dark if a cop is around.

You can tint your car whatever % you like best, but be aware the police need
to see who's in your car. You may be able to survive 20% but I'd leave your
sunroof shade back to let more light in. This is the game we play....

i put what they called 20% which actually was rated at 15-17% n i love dark tint n i could deffinately have it darker but as long as the sun is not directly shining in the front windshield u should b satisfied with anything darker than the 35% due to having a coupe

20% all around...been tinted almost 2 years and no regrets, it's not too dark but not too light
