Sanding headlights.
You need to WETSAND it w/ atleast a 2000 grid sandpaper, then have them buffed and polished, best to use the electric buffer wheel, makes your life easier, and turns the headlights looking brand new.
Sand them down with 600-800 grit sandpaper...it takes all the yellow haze and most of the tiny rock chips away. Then use 2 coats of Auto clear (not rattle can clear) I have been doing this for years and it works and looks great
If you are going to clear, no need to use anything finer than 6-800, if you are going to polish, then work up to 2000 grit, then hit it with a machine. Its the way I've always done it

Did this with 1500 grit. Wanted to do both but ended up doing only one
It's hard as **** to make it shine again and my arms gave away.
I'll get it better with a buffer next time.
I went sand it. Used rubbing compound. Put a coat of clear and let it dry. Then I buffed it rubbing compound and PlastiX

After I was done.

I can I used is a Duplicolor clear coat that I bought from paintscratch. I
how good it is but it worked fine.
I need a buffer though to make it right.
