I have a 2004 G35 Coupe. I just noticed that the upholstery right above the arm rest in the driver's side rear passenger seat is peeling. Here are some photos:

Nobody ever rides in the back seat so the peeling isn't due to human tampering. How do I fix this guys? Any help would be greatly appreaciated, thanks!

I have the same problem.. Any help would be great. Anyone know if its possible to remove that thing altogether? I would want to wrap it in suede.

yeah my rear ones peeled like that so I removed just the ones in the back. Like G35-31 says its smooth black plastic behind it and it looks fine. At some point I might recover them with something else. Might want to look into that. It can be a bit of work as the inserts seem to be pins that are melted to the backside of the whole panel. This makes it a little tricky but there are simple ways of reattaching it. If you decide to recover it, you can figure it out by looking at it.

Did you have to remove the panel to reupholster it?

No, you don't have to remove the panel to put it back. Google 3m spray adhesive and you'll find the product you'll need to put back that piece.

Good to know I'm not alone. I noticed it peeling this today. I might try to have some custom work done, make black insterts. Black on tan would look great.

I have the exact same problem on my 2007, black with tan interior. Both the rear seat panels above the armrests are peeling off, and it is just starting on the drivers door; my pass door is ok. I was extremely disappointed with Infiniti Customer care when I called them for some help; they dismissively said: "nope, it's out of warranty, nothing we can do". I have 48,000 miles on it and the warranty was just over earlier this year. I can't believe this has been an ongoing problem for every model year of the G35 and Infiniti has never done anything to correct it.
