New LED Brake Light Bulbs
Re: New LED Brake Light Bulbs
Yes, you're right. When I only had LEDs in the rear, I used a 10 ohm, 10 watt resistor. After adding LEDs to the front as well, I'm now using a 4 ohm, 50 watt on each side that handles front and back. As far as the light output is concerned, it's not quite as much as the original bulbs but I'm happy with them. In bright sunlight, they're a little dimmer, but I'm happy to sacrifice that for the "snap on/snap off" characteristics of the LEDs.
Re: New LED Brake Light Bulbs
The front amber is a 7443 (dual filament) while the rears are 7440 (single filament). I have them installed and I like the way they look. True, they're not quite as bright as the original incandescents, but they're good enough for me.
