Windshield pitting?

I've noticed when driving at night, as I go under street lights, my front windshield appears to have pitting. They are really small and I don't notice it during the day, just as I drive under the street lights on the highways.

Its there a glass cleaner or something like that for possibly cleaning this pitting? I am not even sure if its really pitting, however I have cleaned the window very well with window cleaner and it doesn't help.

Get some Stoner's Invisible Glass and a window cleaning microfiber. You can find both at your local auto store. I kinda think that pitting would be real visible during the day, and I haven't really heard of any G's with the problem, so Just try cleaning it first.

blacc, its hard to explain....have you ever had tiny tree sap speckles over your windshield? Its sorta like that.

Darkstar, you know now that I think about it maybe I can see it during the day as well but it all depends on the lighting conditions. The entire front windshield is like that. If you look straight on from the outside, or even the inside under normal conditions you can't notice it.

I will purchase the items you suggested and see what happens.

Since you have an '04 and it's not new there's a very good chance you have
sand pitting. You drive your car in the rain the car in front of you is kicking up
moisture, included with the moisture is tiny particles of sand. This leaves
tiny pits in your windshield and after 5 years it becomes very noticeable.... There is no fix that I've ever been aware of except
replacement!

Yea it does appear to be more like sand blasting pitting. I've never had this on any other car I've owned...oh well.

So you don't think using stoners invisi glass would work?

The only thing Invisible glass will do is make your windshield very clean....that's what I use.

It's also impact from small rocks and other debris that hit your glass, but not so large that it stared or cracked it.

I have this, it's normal.

Of course, depending on where you live the issue could get really bad. Like living near the desert/beach front and getting caught in a sand storm. I've seen the paint removed from the car, depends on your location....
