You can't compare apples and oranges (G35 & Minis) I've seen 3 Minis in the
past year that really grabbed my attention one was all dark blue with glass
sunroof and custom wheels, the second was all silver with custom rims and
the third was at the L.A. Auto show all black....slammed putting out 600 RWHP. You see the trend, one color but done well. Why do they put those fugly stripes on that cute car.... That trend goes back to the late 60s when they called them "Racing Stripes" NOT!

I tint my own windows....

I am not a professional but I taught myself. I will admit it takes patients, stable hands and finesse but I enjoy the finish work, and its hella cheap too. I prefer suntek tint. I just go to the local shop where I live and have them cut me few yards of the 40", costs about $20 just need a spray bottle, squeegee, a few fresh razer blades, plastic application card and a couple of hours.

I haven't gotten my G35 yet. My 04 Passat was a bitch to do because all the windows on the car are concave, so I had to use a heat gun to shape the windows film to the glass. All 5 windows were concave in shape. The other part that sucked is the window seals are a velvet like material rather than a rubber so I got debris in the edges and had to redo the film again. Damn VW.... My sisters Mini Cooper has the windows that move when the door is shut but that wasn't a big deal. I just popped the door panels off in order to tuck it the film under the interior seal, extra 20 mins of work and thoroughly squeegeed the glasses edge.

Most people ask me who tints my cars and I tell them I do and they are very impressed that I have no bubbles and perfect lines.

I like that I can go as dark as I want to, and I like my privacy. I live in UT and well anything over 50% is illegal but I never get pulled over either..... (knocks on wood)..... In the event I get stopped I always roll the front ones down all the way, both windows so the cop can approach from either side and I place the keys on the dash so he can see I am not going anywhere. A simple courtesy can go a long way.
